Awards night 2009

A great evening was had by all recently, when Irish Blind Sports honoured their Paralympians for their achievements at the Beijing 2008 Games.

Fred Cogley, IBS President, kick started the evening and Colm Murray, Sports Journalist who was reporting at the Games, gave each Paralympian a scroll. The award of "Sports Person of the Year 2009" was given to Jason Smyth, for his tremendous efforts ending in the winning of 2 gold medals. Chairman Michael Clarke rounded off the event by thanking all that attended.
