B2 B3 Football results, Nantes France
July 2009
On Wednesday July 1st, IBS Footballers beat Italy 5-2, thereby qualifying for the 5th and 6th place play-offs of the IBSA European Football Championships in France.
It was a tremendous effort by the team, bearing in mind they were 2-0 down at half-time.
Whatever Tommy Gallagher and Robert Moore said to the players at the break on Wednesday obviously worked wonders because they stormed forward from the outset, with goals coming from Ciaran O'Brien (2), Paddy Coates (2) and Shane Campbell (1). The mood in the Irish camp is now a lot brighter, as they had been beaten 3-0 by Belarus (one of the favourites) and had lost against Spain 3-2 previously.
They are looking forward eagerly to the play-off match on Friday July 3rd.
