Click here to return to News and Events. GolfApril 2010The first golf clinic for blind and visually impaired golfers of the year was held at East Cork GC in Middleton, Co. Cork. Two people were experienced golfers, who had given up the game when they lost their eyesight, who hope to acquire the skills needed to play the game without sight. Thanks to Sinead Costello, Cork LSP and to Terence McSweeney, COPE Foundation and local professional golfer Don McFarlane. Wally Roode, the outstanding golfer of last year, made a good start to the new season with a score of 23 points. He was two ahead of J. Murray and four ahead to P. O’Rahilly. This is the fifth occasion that IBGS has been invited to Newlands GC and was facilitated by the “Thursdays” golf society.
