Any blind or visually impaired athlete willing to train will be capable of completing this challenge. Friends and family of a VI athlete may be tempted to partner them and seek sponsorship to do it. GFW have agreed to allow us use the races to fundraise and have expressed a willingness to reduce the costs of taking part by 10% for our athletes and there guide/helpers. The races includes kayaking, cycling and running The Connemara Adventure Challenge is a good race to do as it will bring the reality of the challenge of GFW to everyone as it is under half of the distance. It is suggested that those interested would sign up for a training weekend in March (details on http://www.killaryadventure.com/en/adults/gaelforce_training.html). This will give all involved an idea of the terrain involved and ensure that everyone will be safe and prepared on the day. If you are interested to join the few people already in training and can rustle up a group to race then contact Warren McDonald at recreationalfutsal@ibsports.ie or info@ibsports.ie
