Click here to return to News and Events. Golf NewsFebruary 2010The Society intends to have an active year in 2010. A project manager will be assigned from within our society to work with individual golfers, to develop skills. We currently have two golfers ranked inside the top 30 in the world in their sight class. By year end we are targeting to have one golfer in the top 25 of each sight class (B1 / B2 / B3). Former members will be encouraged to get involved during the year. Efforts to build on the success of 2009 in Cork through liaison with Sinead Costello (LSP) will continue. This will help to increase the number of golfers in training and the number on the IBGA database by the end of the year. We will be playing six local events and one event in Cork in October. On the international scene Wally Roode and Jimmy Murray have had their invitations confirmed to the World Championships and the British Open. The invitation has been extended to the Celtic Cup in Scotland (Livingstone) in September. Adrian Canny has been invited to the Scottish pan Disability Open, and Paul O'Rahilly to the Italian Open. |
