Walking

July 2010

On Tuesday 10th August we depart from outside Heuston station at 7:15 p.m. sharp for a walk along the banks of the Liffey and then into the Phoenix Park. We finish up in the Millennium Bar beside the Ashling Hotel.

On Tuesday 3rd August assemble at Ashtown station at 7:00 p.m. for a walk along the Royal Canal back to the NorthStar Hotel Amiens Street. A suburban train departs Tara Station at 6:30 p.m.

A spponsored charity 10K walk in aid of the Niall Melon Township Project is being organized by Rose Whelan. It takes place on Saturday 14th August 2010 assembling at the Halfway House at 1:15 p.m. The walk will commence at 1:30 p.m. following registration. Registration fee is €20 which can be obtained from donations or from personal contribution. Sponsorship cards can be sourced from Rose Whelan. A suburban train departs Tara Station at 12:45 p.m.

A date for your diary: a walk is being planned in Mullingar for Saturday 28th August; watch this space for further details.

The Legion of Mary Annual Pilgrimage to Knock for blind and visually-impaired will take place on Sunday 12thSeptember 2010. The cost of the pilgrimage will be €10 to cover the cost of the bus transport to and from Claremorris railway station. The train departs for Claremorris from Heuston station at 8:30am and those travelling will be collected from their homes from 7:30 a.m. onwards. The annual Oranmore walking weekend takes place this year on the weekend of the 24th to 26th September at an overall cost of €160 per person sharing. A non-refundable deposit of €50 will ensure your place to be received on or before August 24th. A single supplement of €25 per night will apply.
