There is now two groups sailing regularly - a younger group under 21 on Sunday’s and the other group, the over 21’s sailing on Wednesdays. We will try to have a sailing schedule once a month. Please confirm your intention to sail as numbers are very limited. If you need the dog sitting service please let me know and I will put you in touch with Julie who lives near Dromineer. Getting to Dromineer involves travelling by bus or train to Nenagh and then either get a lift from the bus or train station or a taxi, Dromineer is eight miles from Nenagh. If you would like to stay in Dromineer there is a lovely modern hostel and the rates are very reasonable. Foynes is in the Shannon estuary and is dependent on tides. It can be reached by train to Limerick and then bus to Foynes (Limerick bus and train station are next to each other). Foynes is approximately 20 miles from Limerick City. Foynes Yacht club is on the main road at the end of Foynes village on the right hand side. The bus will stop at the Yacht Club. There are a few places to stay in Foynes or Limerick. The cost of sailing, including tuition is €20.00 per session for this season.
Further information please contact Blind Sailing Ireland email wildgoose@iol.ie to or phone on 086 3632408 / 062 79126. Our thanks also to Ted and to Pat McCool at Shannon Sailing for all their help and support. |
