B1 Football event

Everyone is invited along to support a unique event at the end of the June when the first Blind (B1) Football Tournament will be held in UCD on the 26th June (Saturday). There will be match held all during the day in what is also a fundraising event for the NCBI. Each of the 16 team will have 5 players taking part. All players (with the exception of the goalkeeper) must wear blindfolds during their games to ensure those with some vision have no advantage.

Blind (B1) football is a variant of 5-a-side football, with all outfield players wearing eye shields regardless of visual impairment. The football itself contains ball bearings, meaning that it can be located by sound rather than by sight.
