Irish Blind Sport are delighted to report that the Federation of Sport have recognised the many years of selfless voluntary work done on behalf of our athletes by Joe and Bernie Walsh. Between them they have helped, coached, advised and been a friend to generations of Irish blinds Sport athletes, Since the very beginning in the 1980s they have given of their time and expertise with good humour and generosity. They continue with this work on a weekly basis out at Santry stadium where they supervise athletic training every Tuesday evening. They were presented with an award at Farmleigh House in the Phoenix Park on Wednesday 24th February during a special function titled National Awards to Volunteers in Sport. Irish blind Sport is delighted with the recognition by an external body of the work done on our behalf by Joe and Bernie and are extremely grateful for this. We too are tremendously grateful to them for all their efforts on our behalf throughout the years. Indeed we are thankful and mindful of the immense contribution which all of our volunteers have made, and continue to make every week. To them all we extend a heartfelt Thank You, we appreciate your efforts. |
