Blind Sailing Ireland

March 2010

Blind Sailing Ireland in conjunction with Shannon Sailing Ltd. Dromineer, Co. Tipperary and Irish Blind Sport are proud to be able to offer members the opportunity to try the activity of Sailing.

This is a sport that can be participated in, both recreationally and competitively, by visually impaired people. There are visually impaired sailors throughout the world and indeed there is an international blind sailing association – see.

It is a sport for all - either those who have no experience but would like to try and acquire the skills or those who have previously sailed before losing their vision - to enjoy. Like golf, sailors who lose some or all of their vision can learn to make small adaptations to their existing skills to allow them to get back on the water and enjoy their sport again.

Blind Sailing Ireland and Shannon Sailing Ltd Dromineer, Co. Tipperary are offering expert tuition to Visually Impaired people who would love to sail.
