Irish Blind Golf Society results from Westmanstown G.C. April 26th, 2010

May 2010

The Cat’s nine tales
Jimmy “The Cat” Murray had a tale to tell for every hole he played on the difficult homeward nine in Westmanstown. Three single putts on 12th, 15th and 17th stunned the opposition. He clawed ahead with a masterful “up and down” from 25 yards on the 14th. He finally licked the opposition when he creamed his driver to four feet on the par 3 16th, leaving his putt for birdie on the lip.

Jimmy Murray

Adrian Canny and Wally Roode had the same score as Jimmy, but could not match his prowess on the inward nine. Congratulations to Joe Lonergan who completed his first full 18 holes of golf. Joe joined the society this year. He has played pitch and putt in the past and has played underage hurling in his home couinty. Tipperary. Well done also to Ian Corr, who has returned to full fitness, and completed 18 holes, almost without complaint.

We would like to thank Westmanstown for supporting our society for several years. This has been made possible by their unique commitment to assisting us.

Results: J. Murray (45) 31 points, W Roode (24), 31 points, A. canny (16) 31 points, P. O’Rahilly (29) 20 points, O. Kyne (45) 18 points, Corr (45) 13 points, J. Lonergan (36) 3 points.
